At Be Heard Psychotherapy, we believe healing begins the moment you feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and understood.

Our Boston-based therapy practice was founded to make high-quality, trauma-informed care more accessible — both in-person near TD Garden and through telehealth across Massachusetts.

The Heart Behind Be Heard

Be Heard was founded by Teresa Protasio, LICSW, after years of witnessing how traditional systems often left people feeling unheard and unseen or waiting too long for help.
As an immigrant from Portugal and a long-time social worker serving the Boston community, Teresa built this practice around a simple but powerful idea:

When people feel heard, real change becomes possible.

Her goal was to create a practice that values compassion as much as clinical excellence — where clients receive timely, personalized care and clinicians are supported to grow and thrive.

Our Philosophy of Care

At Be Heard, our team uses trauma-informed therapy grounded in evidence-based approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), IFS (Internal Family Systems), CBT, and ACT.

We help clients move from surviving to truly living — integrating the past, building emotional resilience, and creating space for joy and connection.
